I have different people ask me the exact same question- "Where do you get your passion and energy from? What is the driving force within you that really allows you to balance having a Full time career, a child, to study and work with clients on your own time?"
I want to share with you the story behind what drives me to do all of the things that I do.
It began 7 years ago, when I was diagnosed with PCOS and fertility issues. I had always struggled with having a lot of issues around my menstrual cycle. It was never a regular occurrence once it started I would suffer for weeks. I was so anemic that my doctors were amazed that I was even getting up and walking around. On top of that I had so much facial and body hair that I wouldn't allow anyone to get close to me because I was so afraid of being noticed and being bullied.
My eyes were lifeless all the time. A couple of weeks before my cycle I would be so depressed and crave sweets uncontrollably to an extent where I would eat a whole bag of Lindor Lindt chocolate in one go. I had pain all over my body.
During my cycle I could not eat or sleep or feel like a normal human being. I remember living most of my teens and adult life in pain, fatigue, not happy and I avoided being social most of the time. I remember cursing my life and being a girl and why we had to go through all this suffering when boys had it so easy. It was as if I was living a nightmare.
In 2011, I got married and moved to the US, to the state of Ohio. Ohio has long cold terrible winters and I had no job for 8 months. So all I did was binge on candy and sweets in all forms every single day. I was unaware of the internal havoc it was causing my body. Finally in 2012, when I didn’t have a menstrual cycle for 6 months I decided it was time to go to a doctor and get it checked out.
This was when I was formally diagnosed with poly-cystic ovaries and that it was incurable.
I was put on birth control for six months and my doctor discussed with me all of the medications that I would have to take to become pregnant when my husband and I decide to then have a baby.
I walked out of that appointment and thought: “There has to be a better way to deal with this!” It was that very moment that I embarked on my journey to holistic health.
The first thing I did was clean up my diet and started exercising. I completed several detox cycles to address all the organ systems one at a time. I started to practice yoga and meditation to keep positive energy flowing through me.
I also began journaling and addressing all of my underlying emotional blocks and limiting beliefs that I had build up over the years. I began to address my body image issues and practice gratitude in all things. This process wasn’t easy.
It took a lot of effort and patience. However, I finally had a breakthrough. I was finally able to listen and understand what my body was saying and what it needed. It was my “aha moment”. I then addressed my cravings for sweets. I was finally able to heal myself from all of my issues that I had struggled with on an emotional and spiritual level.
I can tell you that I no longer crave sweets.
I no longer struggle with painful menstrual cycles.
I was able to get pregnant naturally and had a wonderful pregnancy. I had my baby naturally at home practicing hypno birthing meditation throughout the entire process. It felt divine and like it was meant to be. The whole experience made me feel so empowered like I was on top of the world.
It made me think about how much negativity there is around being a female and having to face the womanly struggles.
There is so much scrutiny around having a period, the process of getting pregnant and the entire pregnancy process from the moment a family finds out.
The moment when I first held my newborn in my hands, I felt as if I achieved something so wonderful and like it was meant to be.
I realized that I could help other women who struggled in their journey to feel more positive around their femininity and help them achieve something so wonderful.
I became so passionate about helping other women have this same discovery for themselves that I enrolled to be a certified health coach.
For the past two years I have been personally helping women achieve a holistic, healthy mindset around their moon cycle (aka period) and their feminine self.
I am also currently enrolled to achieve my Holistic Health Practitioner and Naturopathic Practitioner license to further my practice and work with women.
